From the recording Kids Don't Wanna Grow Up

I wrote this song with my co-producers and co-songwriters Ryan Matthew Tedder and Aaron Karsh on my last session day, October 2024. This track is really special to me because I actually sang it at my grandmother's celebration of life as she died shortly after I wrote this song. Finally able to get it out to you all. One of my favorites! I'm also doing a collaboration for the Children's Cancer Association so look out for that video.

Lyrics

Yeah you know it’s something
We’re all getting older
But we don’t know nothing
All we can hope for is a better tomorrow
With the time we borrow
Even when we grow older don’t forget the time we have
If I’m honest I’m scared to grow up fast
I don’t ever wanna grow up up up
I have a better time doing what I love
I don’t ever wanna grow up up up
I hope everything I do will be enough
Kids don’t wanna grow up
I hope you remember that all you work for is worth so much more
So don’t stop laughing
But its tied to the moment and the joy you found
Even when we grow older don’t forget the time we had
If I’m honest I’m scared to grow up fast
I don’t ever wanna grow up up up
I have a better time doing what I love
I don’t ever wanna grow up up up
I hope everything I do will be enough
Kids don’t wanna grow up
